OMS Gateway finally available
The OMS Gateway with SCOM support finally is GA (general available).
It works as a proxy server to help connecting machines with no internet connection to Operations Management Suite (OMS), much like the SCOM gateway does for disconnected machines in a SCOM environment.
You can easily download and install the gateway as follows.
A link to download the gateway from the OMS portal got added: select Settings > Connected Sources > Windows Servers and click on Download OMS Gateway
On the machine destined to be your new OMS gateway start the setup wizard.
After you accepted the EULA we get to the most important step of the installation, configuring the port and proxy settings. This is the port the OMS Gateway will be available on, default is 8080.Proxy settings need to be configured, if the OMS Gateway can’t connect directly or transparently to OMS. In that case select Use a proxy server and optionally My proxy server requires authentication.
Afterwards you can change the installation folder if required and lastly start the installation.
Momentslater your gateway is installed and configured.
Last but not least, make sure the Microsoft Management Agent is installed on this box and that it is configured with the same workspace you want this Gateway to connect to.
Connecting to/through the gateway will be described in a separate post.
